Gabriela L. Ramirez, MA, LPCC

Mental Health Wellness becomes a priority in our lives when we begin to face challenges that we never would have imagined experiencing before. Our life circumstances can continue to change every day and at times we find ourselves struggling to adapt and keep moving forward. Counseling can provide the supportive and safe environment necessary to define, learn, and establish the skills necessary to thrive.

Throughout the counseling process, it is my intention to ensure that each of my clients feels heard and understood. I strive to prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of my clients so that they may live healthy and fulfilling lives. Growth can be influenced by several factors, but one of the most powerful can be through self-reflection. I encourage my clients to familiarize themselves with their own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to gain increased self-awareness. I believe that it is with this information that clients can begin to pave their own path to wellness.

In conjunction with a client’s identified goals and ongoing feedback, I use different treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and others to promote healing and growth. I have worked with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including the school system, an inpatient treatment center, and within a correctional facility. I have spent the last four years of my career understanding the relationship between mental health and substance use while treating the co-occurring disorders that are present among the incarcerated population. As a native New Mexican, I am dedicated to promoting wellness within our community.
