Barbara Timmcke, MSW, LCSW

Barbara Timmcke was born in New York City and attended Queens College, a New York City University, with a double major in Psychology and Education. After graduation, she moved to Clovis, New Mexico. She started her career as a Social Worker at Children, Youth and Families. Barbara has also worked in a Residential Treatment Center, and then worked as a counselor for children, families and Treatment Foster Parent. Since moving to Albuquerque, Barbara worked at Peanut Butter and Jelly for a year as the Clinical Supervisor and has worked with Elementary and Middle School Children and their families, as well as helping staff cope with student’s issues and behaviors.

Barbara has been married for over 25 years and has 3 children, 2 step-children and 11 grandchildren. She rescues dogs and has several in her home. She loves to spend time with her family, travel, hike and read. Barbara has worked extensively with depressed and anxious children and adults, using several therapeutic methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Sand Tray. She has worked with many children on the Autism Spectrum and children with Behavioral Issues.
