APRIL CASUSE, LMFT

She/Her

I am a compassionate and supportive therapist dedicated to helping individuals and families heal from past trauma and build healthier emotional and mental well-being. Specializing in trauma recovery, family dynamics, and the impact of past experiences on current mental health, my approach is centered on understanding how these factors shape our emotional lives.

I work primarily with individuals seeking to process past trauma, create meaningful change, and develop a healthier relationship with themselves and their support system. As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, I use evidence-based methods to help clients move through the healing process, reduce distressing symptoms, and foster long-term emotional resilience.

Throughout my career, I have worked with clients experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related symptoms. I believe that healing is possible for everyone with the right support and guidance. By providing a safe, non-judgmental space, I help clients process difficult events, develop coping strategies, and ultimately create lasting change in their lives.

I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Since then, I have gained extensive experience working with diverse populations, including individuals and families impacted by trauma. I have had the privilege of working with survivors of Hurricane Katrina, as well as in a range of settings, including community clinics, residential treatment centers (RTC) for high-risk youth, schools, and home-based services. These experiences have helped me build a trauma-informed practice that emphasizes understanding each client’s unique life context, providing the support and resources necessary for their healing journey.

I am deeply passionate about the healing process and take great pride in guiding my clients toward emotional well-being and resilience. I believe in the transformative power of therapy and am committed to supporting clients as they navigate their path to recovery.
